Movies To Watch In Winter

The title of this post sounds kinda weird, since when do movies have assigned seasons? Well, they don’t. But I’m the kind of person that likes to watch movies when the atmosphere fits the situation. Like watching Christmas movies in Winter (even though I’m Australian).Typically I don’t think about watching movies like Sister Hood Of Travelling Pants (set when 4 friends go on Summer vacation) in the Winter. Or movies like Happy Feet in the Summer.

Anyways, here is a lost of my favourite movies to watch in the Winter. This list will exclude Christmas movies as much as possible, however a few Christmas movies may sneak onto the list! I also tried limiting the amount of horror/thriller movies in this list (warning, I didn’t do very well at that).

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe

Caroline

The Shining

Happy Feet

Love Actually

Edward Scissorhands

Little Women

Let the Right One In (Swedish Version)

Let Me In (English Version)
This movie is the English version of Let The Right One In.

Home Alone

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Ice Princess

Everest

Frozen
No, not the Frozen you’re thinking of.

Snow Day

The Mighty Ducks

Friends With Kids

Ice Age

Bridget Jones’s Diary
Bridget Jones’s Diary (2001). With London in snow, Bridget Jones (Renée Zellweger) steps out in a long purple scarf, grey coat and a lilac jumper. But we’re calling that plastic bag accessory a fashion no-no

Snow White And The Huntsman
Even though this movie goes for like 3 hours (2h 12m), and I may have fall asleep when watching it in cinemas, after watching it a second time, it wasn’t THAT bad.

Eight Below

Whiteout

Fargo

Groundhog Day

Mr Popper’s Penguins

And finally, any of the Harry Potter movies.
Yes, any of them. 90% of the HP movies includes scenes during Winter with everyone warm and cozy and the snow falling. I couldn’t leave HP out of this list!

What’s your favourite movie set in Winter?
